Artist Statement:
It all begins in my sketchbooks. I sit and draw whatever comes out and these sketches become catalysts for drawings, cut-outs and paintings.
Surprise is an important part of my process. I aim to surprise myself as I work and to shift the viewer’s perspective and have them asking questions. How can the perspectival shifts and unexpected connections in a painting invite us to see beyond ourselves and our understandings and tune into the unseen connections between us all?
